Hello
I’m a 45‑year‑old Pacific Northwesterner, shaped by the desert, mountains, rivers and the deep sense of community this region inspires. I’ve been married to my best friend for 25 years, and together we’ve raised three incredible children who continue to be my greatest source of pride.
My commitment to service began early—enlisting in the Marine Corps while still in high school setting the tone for everything that followed. From that moment on, I’ve been driven by a simple purpose: to help make our nation safer. That calling has carried me through a career filled with meaningful work and the privilege of collaborating with extraordinary professionals who have challenged, inspired, and strengthened me.
If there’s one thing I credit for my success, it’s the people I’ve chosen to learn from. I’ve always surrounded myself with coaches and mentors who pushed me to grow, stay grounded, and never lose sight of the mission. Today, I hope to pay that forward by sharing whatever wisdom I’ve gathered along the way and supporting others on their own paths.
My Story
Travers Bracy is an accomplished Security and Emergency Services professional with more than 25 years of combined experience in U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Safeguards & Security (S&S), Emergency Management, and military service. As the Owner and Principal Consultant of CORE Government Services, he provides senior‑level consulting, program development, and technical support to DOE Field and Program Offices across the complex.
Security Leadership & DOE Program Expertise
Mr. Bracy has built a distinguished career leading high‑visibility security programs, managing classified systems, and advising Federal leadership on risk, compliance, and operational readiness. He successfully directed the implementation of the Design Basis Threat (DBT) for all Hanford assets and S&S operations—making Hanford the first major DOE Office of Environmental Management site to achieve full DBT compliance in both analysis and operations.
His experience includes redesigning the Hanford S&S planning program to create a more agile, functional, and risk‑informed framework centered on the Site Security Plan. He has served as a Safeguards & Security Patrol Supervisor, overseeing 15–30 protective force officers during routine and tactical operations, giving him a unique operational perspective that informs his strategic program management work.
As the Classified System Owner, Cost Account Manager, and Director of the primary user organization, Mr. Bracy oversaw the procurement, development, integration, and lifecycle management of the Hanford Classified Cyber National Security System. He has also served as a subject matter expert in vulnerability analysis, performance testing, site security planning, and assessments, working closely with DOE Headquarters and Field Offices on policy development and program execution.
Emergency Management & Continuity of Operations
In addition to his security credentials, Mr. Bracy is a proven leader in Emergency Management and Continuity of Operations (COOP). He currently leads the emergency management and continuity programs as the primary program administrator for the Hanford site. His responsibilities include the management, coordination, and oversight of the Hanford Emergency Management Plan and its implementing procedures, executed across six prime and subcontractor organizations spanning 580 square miles.
His emergency management work integrates planning, preparedness, response coordination, and program evaluation—ensuring alignment with DOE directives, Federal Continuity guidelines, and site‑specific operational needs. His ability to bridge security and emergency preparedness provides DOE clients with a comprehensive, mission‑focused approach to risk management.
Education & Credentials
Mr. Bracy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Ashford University and maintains multiple DOE certifications, including Program Planning & Management, Survey of Protective Forces, and Vulnerability Assessment.
